Warranty Coverage

Enter the warranty details from your quote. We'll analyze whether the coverage is adequate and factor it into the price assessment.

Covers the cost of technician labor if something needs to be fixed after installation.

Covers replacement parts (compressor, coil, heat exchanger) if they fail. Usually provided by the manufacturer.

Does the contractor offer a satisfaction guarantee (e.g., "100% satisfaction or we'll make it right")?

How to Know If Your HVAC Quote Is Fair

Getting an HVAC replacement quote can feel overwhelming. Prices vary significantly between contractors, and it's hard to know if you're getting a fair deal without context. Our Quote Analyzer compares your contractor's price against real market data based on system type, size, efficiency, and scope of work — and now includes a full warranty coverage analysis.

Why Warranty Coverage Matters

A lower quote price isn't always the better deal. A contractor offering a 10-year labor warranty at $12,000 may be a better value than one offering a 1-year warranty at $10,500. Labor warranties protect you from paying $150–$300 per service call if something goes wrong after installation. Over a 10-year period, the difference in warranty coverage alone can be worth $1,000–$3,500.

What to Look for in HVAC Warranties

The best HVAC quotes include three types of protection: a labor warranty (covers technician time for repairs), a parts warranty (covers replacement components like compressors and coils), and a satisfaction guarantee (ensures the contractor will address any quality concerns). Most major brands offer a 10-year parts warranty when the equipment is registered within 60 days of installation — make sure your contractor handles this registration.

When to Get a Second Opinion

If your quote falls in the "Slightly High" or above range, we recommend getting at least one additional quote. Even "Fair Price" quotes can sometimes be negotiated, especially during off-peak seasons (spring and fall). Our network of verified contractors can provide a free second opinion.
